Hampstead is a desirable village with beautifully-kept Georgian houses of the 1700's. Constable lived here for a time and is buried in one of the oldest unspoiled graveyards in London.
I can see why Londoners love Hampstead Heath - you really do lose all sense of the bustling city following trails across meadows and in the forests. Parliament Hill reminds you of what you've left behind. We couldn't see much - the heat is holding in the haze but we got the idea.

Good for you...touring despite the heat. I'd be floating in an inner tube on the Thames, me thinks!! Ottawa was 41 degrees for 2 days last week.
