London on a moment's notice

"Can travel on a moment's notice" is the key to having a sudden offer of an exchange to London in June! So we are off in two days for an apartment not far from the Tower Bridge. Three weeks of exploring the wonderful city and then five days in York - who could ask for more?
Of course things are unsettled in London but we expect to join the millions who live there and stay calm and carry on. With so much time, we'll travel more by bus than tube so we can take in the sights, have lunches in parks and gardens, and drop into museums and galleries for frequent but short visits. Our feet won't be screaming at the end of the days and we'll have a chance to absorb this amazing city.
