When you are disoriented time-wise, where better to go than Greenwich? There we had an afternoon straddling the prime meridian, coordinating our phones with Greenwich Mean Time and wrapping our tired brains around critical developments in the history of navigational aids in the Royal Observatory. Sailors could figure out latitude fairly early but until the mid-17th Century, longitude was a puzzle and meant the loss of many lives.
