"Hakuna matata"

So each day we are picking a new part of London to explore. Since we had theatre tickets at the Lyceum, our chosen area was The Strand and Covent Garden.
What a contrast to yesterday! Covent Garden is an upscale market - if we had gone to see it in ’73, it would have still been a vegetable and fruit market - that changed the next year when restaurants and higher end shops took over. It is still a people place with buskers who attract large crowds but nothing like yesterday's wild and crazy experience at Camden Market.

We followed a literary tour of the area starting at the Lyceum and ending at Covent Market for lunch. Then off to the theatre. We chose a matinee to escape the heat. It was starting to hit by the time we went in. And how appropriate to go to a musical set in Africa. The Lion King, of course. Spectacular sums it up. I nearly wept as the life-sized elephants walking down the aisle joined the amazing puppets of other African animals on stage. The costumes are beyond amazing - the most creative show I’ve seen since War Horse.

A bit cloudy so cooler when we came out, our apartment is very warm. Temperatures are still going up - not sure what cool activity we can find tomorrow - a park and a good book?

"Hakuna matata" is a Swahili phrase; roughly translated, it means "no worries
